Happy birthday to my sweet, sweet little boy! Hayston turns two today. Although I can’t believe he’s two and getting to be such a “big boy,” I have loved every minute of getting to know the little person he is becoming. He is so smart, so kind, a little shy, very funny, a sensitive and engaging little guy. I can’t wait to see the person he is going to become, although I hope he never grows out of narrating his life in the third person…”Hayston go library”…”Hayston eat cupcake”…”Hayston make tall tall tower”…”Hayston read books”…”Hayston love Mommy.” I am so proud and in love with this little man. He has changed my life in ways I never thought possible and taught me to love, sacrifice and laugh in ways I would have never learned otherwise. Hooray for 2!
I’m hoping to get some good cupcake smashing photos of him tonight and I definitely aspire to get some updated “portraits” of this little guy soon, but until then, here is one of us playing in the snow last month.
There are gentle winds blowing
and stars all above you.
Night-night, little Pookie
I love you and love you.
And love you and love you.

And love you and love you.
(a new favorite poem in this house by Sandra Boynton)
I love you and love you my sweet, Hayston. Happy birthday.
